Climbing Systems

MGC/MGS - Guided Climbing / Screens

MGC: Climbing Higher, Climbing Safer

Novatec´s Guided Climbing System MGC comprises vertical formwork and safety platforms as a single unit. It remains securely attached to the building structure during building and lifting. Thus, wind velocities do not affect the building process. Assembly is at ground level for improved safety and speed.
The MGC system is designed to meet the highest standards in effi ciency and safety:

  • for high-rise construction
  • complementing the proven climbing scaffold KLK 230

The Guided Screen System MGS
is the MGC´s integrated system for slabs. Highest safety is guaranteed by full side protection, enhanced by several technical advantages:

  • spacing of brackets is variable
  • level heights 3,00 m to 4,25 m
  • secondary platforms attachable to any bracket
  • integrated access system

MGS is also assembled at ground level: All parts are lifted into the guard rails from below.

Novatec's MGC (MEVA Guided Climbing) System provides a significant advantage: bracket extensions, secondary platforms, ladder extensions etc. are mounted from ground level below – under simple and safe assembly conditions.

  • The MGC System is a proven and cost-effective technology for buildings which require the core shaft to be poured ahead of floor slabs.
  • The Guided Climbing System MGC ensures highest safety for high-rise construction projects, with wind velocities up to 70 km/h.

The integrated screens are designed to meet the highest standards in international high-rise construction.

Benefits and features

  • A modular system for climbing and screen adaption with the simplest possible design and logistics
  • Is always anchored to the building throughout the climbing process offering premium safety standards
  • Is completely surrounded by screens making for optimum work safety and labour performance
  • Level heights from 3,00 m to 4,25 m - Flexible planning for all high-rise buildings
  • Have working platforms which are easily attachable to rails at any point
  • Has an integrated ladder system.
  • The guided Climbing system is assembled at ground level requiring the initial wall height of only 3,25 m
  • Free positioning of guide rails up to a width of 4,50 m
  • Simple, automatic climbing process - Reduces crane time
  • Able to withstand wind velocities of up to 70 km/h, reducing down times

 MAC Automatic Climbing

Fastest 3-Way Accuracy

Novatec's crane-independent, fully automatic hydraulic system MAC features a fast stroke climbing action unique 3-way adjustment option for aligning the forms.

MAC is recognized as the fastest technology for climbing high-rise buildings.
The platforms on either side, are moved via an hydraulic ram as a complete unit. A lift of 4.00 m takes only about 60 minutes. Roll back, suspended shutters increase work speed, resulting in a "steel and concrete works plus one day" schedule. Apart from the initial assembly, the MAC is completely crane-independent. Thus, productivity is never hindered by wind velocities even at great heights.

Non-return ratchet offers premium hydraulic safety
The long-stroke, heavy-duty hydraulic system is equipped with safety features such as a non-return ratchet that locks on each cylinder.

The system´s inner and outer formwork shutters comprise pre-fabricated formwork panels. A three-way adjustment on the shutters enables completely independent adjustment in each direction, ensuring the greatest possible accuracy.

This technology underlines the MAC´s advantage in efficiency and flexibility, positioning it one step ahead in the demanding field of high-rise building projects across the world.

The MAC platforms are completely enclosed offering protection from weather influences and the safety of a closed working environment.

Benefits and Features

  • The jacking beams are supported by concrete that has already set - Structure can be lifted the day after pouring, saving time
  • A long jacking stroke per level; ensures a fast program time of "reinforcement plus concrete plus one day." The fastest technology, speed and efficiency, resulting in extensive time savings
  • Lifted entirely without crane - No crane time needed, saving time and enabling climbing even at great heights with strong winds
  • As the top deck is free of jacking masts and other mechanical obstacles, improved safety and working conditions is achieved
  • Improved safety is achieved via the use of hydraulic non-return valves and non-return ratchets on each jack. The potential risk of accidents and disruptions is also greatly reduced
  • Rolling panels ensures fast and easy opening and closing of shutters with; fewer operations resulting in more speed
  • The building sequence is independent of external factors ensuring Speed, reliable scheduling and on-time work flow
  • The long-stroke and heavy duty hydraulic rams (20 ton load capacity) allow 4.0 m of travel enabling deep, floor-to-floor single pours
  • The shear key pocket moulds are retrievable prior to jacking and are therefore immediately reusable saving on time and money
  • Drop panels allow for easy access to platforms for placing steel reinforcement, penetrations and built-in items
  • The 3 way adjustment of shutters allows for maximum possible accuracy
  • The fully clad and enclosed environment provides protection from the elements and comfortable, safe working conditions for workers
  • The multiple working decks ensures improved productivity and safety
