Our History

Novatec Formwork Systems was first established as Novatec ‘Construction’ Systems in 2001 by brothers Paul and Mimmo Mitolo in the aim of offering the Australian Construction Industry, professional and innovative formwork solutions along with the latest technologically advanced products.

The brothers first endeavour into the Construction Industry was in commercial formwork with Mitolo Constructions which began in the 1980s. From a two man operation working on small residential, they slowly grew their business to over 100 employees, the largest commercial formworker in South Australia.

In the early stages they utilised the Australian formwork systems available at the time. Those systems were very heavy, highly wasteful of timber and labour intensive. Recognising the needs of their business and those of the Australian market, Paul and Mimmo were determined to find more advanced, lighter, faster and safer systems.

After searching the globe and speaking with numerous international companies, they discovered that European construction companies were receiving better information, solutions and products from their suppliers than were Australian companies. The brothers saw this as an opportunity to establish an independent company in Australia to provide these same advanced ideas, products and services to the Australian Construction Industry.

Head Office was established in South Australia in 2001, and in 2002, a new office in Queensland to service both the eastern seaboard and Northern Territory. With serious demand for their products and services becoming evident, a Western Australian office was established in early 2009.
